ACHT BRÜCKEN

A quintet of reed instruments is not exactly standard fare in the concert hall. The ensemble Calefax is well on its way to changing that fact. During its almost 30 years of existence, the quintet from the Netherlands has inspired more than one hundred original compositions. Stuttgart’s Neue Vocalsolisten are similarly inspiring, having great affinity for innovation and discoveries, and occupy a comparable place on the concert scene. So what could be more obvious than bundling all this energy in one joint project! Four compositions on the theme of »Morphing Relations« have been commissioned by the ensembles. Five vocalists and five wind instruments who are all set to interfere and superimpose, overpaint and underpin, will give world premieres of new works by Steffen Krebber, José Maria Sánchez Verdú, Elena Rykova and Fabio Nieder.
